Terms of Service
Effective at launch. The honesty page is part of these terms — it describes exactly what the product does, where data comes from, and what we will never do.
What you're buying
- TickAhead is a web app — with an optional browser extension — on a paid subscription, billed quarterly or yearly: a strategy builder, backtester and robustness tools, a trade journal, deployment to your own trading server, and related tools. One subscription covers your own personal use.
- Your license key is your access credential. Don't share it; accounts with clearly shared keys may be suspended.
- The subscription renews automatically — each quarter or each year, matching the plan you chose — until you cancel. Cancel any time via Manage Subscription (in the product or from this site). Cancelling keeps the product working until your paid period ends.
Canceling
No lock-in. Cancel anytime from your account or by emailing contact@tickahead.com — you keep full access until the end of the period you've paid for, and it won't renew after that. Subscriptions are non-refundable, but you're never tied in, and your journal always stays readable and exportable, even after you leave.
Hardware — the Server Kit
- Some plans include a ready-to-run server — a small single-board computer, pre-configured with TickAhead, plus the accessories to run it — shipped to you. You own the device; you're responsible for its power, internet connection, and physical security.
- Shipping. Delivery times, shipping costs, and any import duties or taxes are shown at checkout. Title and risk of loss pass to you on delivery.
- On arrival. It arrives ready to run. If it won't power on or connect out of the box, email contact@tickahead.com and we'll repair or replace it.
- Returns. You may return undamaged hardware within 14 days of delivery, in resalable condition, for a refund of the hardware portion less return shipping; the software subscription follows the Canceling terms above. Any consumer-law rights that apply to you are unaffected.
- Warranty. The hardware carries a 12-month limited warranty against manufacturing defects. It does not cover accidental damage, misuse, or normal wear.
Your data
- Your trading data (journal, strategies, settings) lives in your browser, belongs to you, and is never uploaded to us. Our account record about you is your email, license key, and subscription status. Details: the honesty page.
- If your subscription lapses, the product switches off — but your journal remains readable in the product and exportable to a file, indefinitely.
What TickAhead is not
- Not investment advice. Nothing in the product — strategy backtests, robustness scores, statistics, indicators, news — is a recommendation to buy or sell anything. The product describes your own past trades and tests the rules you write; it does not predict markets or tell you what to trade.
- Not a broker. TickAhead never holds your funds. Any orders are placed by strategies you build and deploy, on your own connected accounts, under rules you set.
- Not a data guarantee. Included market data is free public data — delayed and best-effort. Data from providers you connect is governed by your agreement with that provider.
Acceptable use
Don't reverse the product into a data-redistribution service, don't abuse the data sources through it, don't use it for anything unlawful. Your connected provider credentials are used only to fetch your entitled data into your own browser.
Liability, in plain terms
Trading involves risk of loss. You alone are responsible for your trading decisions and their outcomes. To the maximum extent the law allows, TickAhead is provided "as is" and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months. Data feeds and the product may be interrupted; we work hard to avoid it and promise no uptime.
Changes
If these terms change materially, we'll show the change in the product and on this page before it takes effect. Continued use after that is acceptance. We will never change the two promises above: your data stays yours, and lapsed accounts keep journal access and export.
